Changes have been made to the BlackBerry® Internet Service to simplify mail management and remove the mailbox storage quota. Now you can simply view and manage email messages right on your BlackBerry® smartphone – there’s no longer an additional inbox or mail storage quota to manage on the BlackBerry Internet Service website.

Since you no longer need to log in to the BlackBerry Internet Service website for inbox or contact management, there are a few things you may wish to do before upgrading to the new BlackBerry Internet Service:

Forward important emails stored on the BlackBerry Internet Service site

Because the webmail/inbox component of the BlackBerry Internet Service website will no longer be available once you upgrade, email messages stored on this site will also no longer be accessible. If there are any messages in the inbox of the BlackBerry Internet Service website that you do not have a copy of elsewhere, you may wish to forward a copy of these messages to another email account.

Write down address book information stored on the BlackBerry Internet Service website

Any contact information stored on your current BlackBerry Internet Service website will not be accessible after upgrading to the new BlackBerry Internet Service. If you have any contacts stored on the site that you might need in the future, you should write them down or input them into your BlackBerry smartphone address book.

Change of Devices

If you are changing the BlackBerry smartphone associated with your BlackBerry Internet Service account, please log into your BlackBerry Internet Service account or contact your service provider customer support to make the smartphone association change before upgrading to the new BlackBerry Internet Service.

Users of BlackBerry® Connect software

If you are using a BlackBerry enabled device (a device made by another manufacturer that supports key BlackBerry services), you may wish to forward important emails currently stored on your device to a desktop email account so that you may access these at a later date.

Please note that after the upgrade, subscribers using a device enabled with BlackBerry Connect software will not be able to forward or reply to emails that were delivered to the device prior to this upgrade. Additionally, the “more” portion of an email that was delivered to the device prior to the upgrade cannot be accessed once an account has been upgraded.
