Mobile applications
What's a mobile application strategy?
If you've already invested in BlackBerry® smartphones, you understand the power and productivity that can come from having real-time access to email while on the go. By adding third-party and custom applications to your business mobility solution, you can help employees reduce downtime and improve productivity by giving them access to the tools they need to do their jobs, wherever they are.
Whether your organization is creating customized applications or implementing apps from third parties, consider these best practices:
- Analyze the current usage and needs of mobile users
- Ensure your mobile apps take into consideration the advantages and limitations of mobile devices
- Determine if apps or their associated data need to be available when users are out of coverage
- Decide what your application policy will be, e.g., will you allow all third-party apps or only those pushed to smartphones by your IT department?
- Decide whether you want to deploy a client-server or web-based solution
