“[T]he primary reasons BlackBerry devices have been so widely adopted [for] enterprise [are] security and device management capabilities that remain the 'gold standard' in the industry.”1
ABI Research

Why is security important?

As people work outside the secure boundaries of an organization with more frequency, the risk of compromising data security and allowing malicious users access to the corporate network increases. Security threats can include viruses, trojans, worms and other malware unknowingly loaded onto a device through a mobile app, or the loss or theft of mobile devices containing sensitive corporate data.

Consider these best practices for securing your
organization's business mobility:

  • Ensure your enterprise wireless security strategy addresses securing the mobile device and its data, as well as the communications to and from the mobile device
  • Be prepared to develop, educate, enforce and maintain an enterprise-wide security policy
  • Ensure your wireless policy is integrated with your existing security standards
  • Develop a plan for tracking, measuring and auditing your security policy performance
  • Provide IT administrators with the ability to establish, enforce and update mobile device settings through policies that provide comprehensive control across all mobile devices
