How do I register and apply for roles at BlackBerry?
Applying for a job BlackBerry is easy. The first step toward starting your career at BlackBerry is to use our Online Career Center to search for career opportunities globally. Just follows these steps:
- Visit us at www.BlackBerry.com/careers and click on "View Available Careers" link on the Careers home page. You will be directed to a page where you are asked to select the geographic location you would like to search for jobs in (e.g. Ontario).
- Use the keyword search or the search criteria to locate roles that maybe be of interest including searching by jobs based on City, Keyword, Reference Code or Category.
- Once you have found a job that you are interested in applying for, click on the "Apply Now" button, you will be asked to create a Career Profile. (NOTE: This step is required in order to apply for jobs at BlackBerry) By creating a profile, your profile and CV will be saved in our secure database, which is regularly searched by BlackBerry recruiters. You will also save having to fill out an application form each time you want to apply for a new job.
- Answer the job specific screening questions, where applicable.
- Once your Career Profile is created, simply follow the instructions to submit your resume for the position in which you are interested.
- Release to your profile to be considered by our recruiters for other roles that may become available matching your skills and qualifications
- You can also create a Career Alert, that will inform you whenever a new job that matches your criteria is posted.
Why do I have to register?
As part of the application process, you will be asked to register by specifying a username and password. You can login at any time to update your profile information and create and maintain job alerts. Once you enter information in your profile, you will not need to enter the same information again if you apply for multiple jobs.
What is a profile?
A profile is saved summary of your information that provides several benefits. First, once you enter your information, you will not have to re-enter it to apply in the future. If you choose to make your profile searchable, our global network of recruiters can find you. You can also create a job alert that will notify you by email as soon as a job matches your interests, save favorite job searches or set preferences for your job search.
How do I change my profile?
You can log in and change your profile information anytime. However, changes to your profile will not affect the information on previously submitted applications.
What is the difference between a Locked versus Released Profile?
By releasing your profile, our global network of recruiters will be able to review your profile and contact you as soon as opportunities matching your skills and credential become available. A locked profile still provides you with the ability to apply to positions, but only the recruiter responsible for the position to which you apply will be able to see your application and consider you for the role to which you have applied.
What fields are mandatory when submitting an application?
The following fields are mandatory when submitting an application:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email address
What happens after I apply for a job?
Applicants will receive an acknowledgement of receipt for an online application as soon as they:
- create a profile; and
- apply for a job by completing the pre-screening questions and clicking on the submit button.
What if I start but do not finish my application today?
Once you register, all information that you enter will be saved. If you do not submit your application, you can login to update and complete you application at a later time. Your application is not formally submitted until you have completed each step of the application process.
Can I change my application?
Once you have completed all of the application steps for a specific position, your application cannot be changed. You may, however, withdraw your application at any time.
How can I submit my application if I do not have access to the Internet?
Despite the prevalence of home computers, we recognize that not everyone has one. People without home PCs can still apply on-line from the following locations:
- Friends, relatives or neighbors
- Public libraries
- Community centers
- Internet cafes
- Canada/Student employment centers
- Campus career centers
When will I hear back?
Due to the volume of applications received, please understand that we cannot respond to each applicant individually. You will be contacted by a member of our Global Talent Acquisition team if more information is required.
How do I stop receiving job notification emails?
If you no longer wish to receive emails from us or wish to make other changes to your profile, please log in to your profile and remove this request from your profile.
Why does BlackBerry conduct Background Screening?
All offers of employment from BlackBerry are conditional upon successful completion of the background screening, which is currently being conducted for all external hires in North America and all external director-level and above hires globally.
After you have received your conditional offer of employment, the recruitment team will request your permission to initiate background screening. We’ll ask your consent to share your name, home address, home telephone number and personal email address with our background screening partner so they can contact you and commence the background screening process.
We strongly recommend that you don’t resign from your current position until you’ve been given confirmation by BlackBerry that the background screening process has been successfully completed.
How often are new jobs posted on the careers website?
We post jobs regularly (often daily), so we recommend you visit our site frequently to check them out and or create job alerts to send notifications when new positions become available.
Can I apply for more than one job at a time?
Yes. You're welcome to apply for any jobs that you believe match your skills and career aspirations.
