Challenge

Edge Imaging needed a tool that would allow sales reps to access, search and input information while taking photos in schools. In the past, employees would enter information for tracking orders into a desktop computer at the end of each day. The process was slow and sometimes sales reps would forget to submit orders.

Solution

Edge Imaging had previously installed a BlackBerry® Enterprise Server and deployed BlackBerry® smartphones to core employees. The company equipped the sales team with BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablets, utilizing BlackBerry® Bridge™ technology to connect each tablet to a BlackBerry smartphone. Reps can now access eTrax from the browser on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet and the solution integrates with the calendar and other native apps on the BlackBerry smartphone, so reps can easily access details about customers and orders.
