Challenge

Surrey County Council wanted to find new ways to save time and money by reducing paperwork, particularly when providing services for young people
The existing reporting process was costly and slow and by the time the reports on how the unit was performing according to its KPIs were compiled the data was out of date
They wanted a solution that would enable the youth workers to report more proactively and quickly on the services provided to young people

The solution will help save the Council between £75,000 and £100,000 annually by cutting the time spent on paperwork
The solution enables the Council to have an instant snapshot of what’s going on at its youth centres and has helped improve the quality of service to its customers
The work done with BlackBerry has set the stage for further projects at the Council to improve how mobile workers operate
