The Challenge
Christopher Schafer is always on the road meeting clients for his custom clothing business. He collects 50 percent of the payment upfront, but does not want to spend time following up with customers if there was an issue with a check or credit card. Schafer was looking for a payment process for his clients that would be as easy and comfortable, and did not involve carrying around large amounts of cash.
The Solution
Schafer quickly realized he could utilize his BlackBerry® smartphone to manage mobile payments from his clients. He downloaded CHARGE Anywhere®, a mobile payment solution for merchants with credit card merchant accounts. The app includes software for the BlackBerry smartphone and a separate card reader/printer device. It allows Schafer to take payments from clients, including debit, credit and prepaid cards, process transactions and print receipts via his BlackBerry smartphone while he’s on the road.
