Ready to start using Google Talk
on BlackBerry? Here's how:
  1. Download Google Talk for BlackBerry smartphones.
  2. Sign up for a Gmail account if you don't already have one.
  3. On your BlackBerry smartphone home screen, select and click the Google Talk icon.
  4. Enter your Gmail username and password.
  5. Click the Sign-In button.
Now you can start chatting with Google Talk
  1. Add a friend by clicking the trackball or trackwheel while on the Google Talk Friends screen. Then, click Add a Friend. When the User Name field appears, enter your friend's email address. Finish by clicking OK.

    Note: When the contact you've just added accepts your invitation, their name and status will appear in your Friends list.
  2. To set your availability status, click the trackball or trackwheel while on the Friends screen. Click My Status. Select from Available, Busy, or enter your own custom status. Finish up by clicking OK.
  3. Start a conversation by clicking on the name of a friend who's online from the Google Talk Friends screen. Click Start Conversation, then type your message. To send your message, press the Enter key.
  4. To look at your calendar while chatting, click the trackball or trackwheel, then click on View Calendar.
