When you add an email account that is supported by Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, the messages, calendar events, contacts, tasks, and notes that are associated with the account are synced with your BlackBerry device.
When you first set up your new BlackBerry 10 device, you're prompted to sign in with BlackBerry ID or create a new BlackBerry ID. You can use your BlackBerry ID to log in to BlackBerry products that support BlackBerry ID, such as BBM. With BlackBerry ID, you can manage apps that you download from the BlackBerry World storefront. You should sign in with the same BlackBerry ID on all of your BlackBerry devices.
With BBM, you can chat and share in real time with your friends, family, and coworkers. You control your contact list and decide who can add you as a contact. During a BBM chat, you can see when someone has read your message or is typing a reply, and you can share pictures and other files. You can sign in to BBM on only one device at a time.
BBM is designed to back up your contacts, profile, and channels based on your BlackBerry ID. If you used BBM on your previous iPhone or Android device, the email address and password that you use for BBM is your BlackBerry ID. When you set up your new BlackBerry 10 device and you're prompted to sign in with your BlackBerry ID, use the same email address and password that you used for BBM.
You can download and buy apps using the BlackBerry World storefront app or the Amazon Appstore app. Both apps are included on your BlackBerry 10 device. For more information about BlackBerry World and Amazon Appstore, search the Help app on your device.
