Setting up a personal email account

Your BlackBerry® smartphone allows you to send and receive email from up to 10 supported email accounts.

You can set up your email account from your BlackBerry smartphone or your computer:

To set up your personal email account from your BlackBerry smartphone:

Add email accounts, including Yahoo!® Mail, Gmail®, AOL, and Windows Live™ Hotmail®, directly from your smartphone in just a few easy steps.

To set up your personal email account on a BlackBerry smartphone with BlackBerry® 7 OS or BlackBerry® 6 OS:

  • From the Home screen click the Setup icon
  • Select Email Accounts
  • Select Internet Mail Account, and follow the screens to set up your email address.

To set up your personal email account on a BlackBerry smartphone with BlackBerry® Device Software v5:

  • From the Home screen click the Setup icon.
  • Select Setup Wizard.
  • On the email setup screen, select I want to create or add an email address.
  • Follow the screens to set up your email address.

Setting up a corporate email account

Use the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server option to associate your smartphone with a Microsoft® Outlook®, IBM® Lotus Notes® or Novell® GroupWise® work email account.

If your system administrator has provided you with an enterprise activation password, you can set up email from within the Setup icon on your BlackBerry smartphone. If you don’t have an enterprise activation password, contact your system administrator.

To set up your corporate email account on a BlackBerry smartphone with BlackBerry® 7 OS or BlackBerry® 6 OS:

  • From the Home screen click the Setup icon.
  • Select Email Accounts.
  • Select Enterprise Account, and follow the screens to set up your email address.

To set up your corporate email account on a BlackBerry smartphone with BlackBerry® Device Software v5:

  • From the Home screen click the Setup icon.
  • Click Setup Wizard.
  • On the email setup screen, select I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
  • Follow the screens to set up your email address.

If you don't have access to your company's BlackBerry Enterprise Server, you can still connect to Microsoft® Exchange email by setting up Microsoft Outlook Web Access on your BlackBerry smartphone.
